Two new products at Parcours including the Grimpeur, carbon wheels with surprising skates

A British brand known for its carbon wheels combining performance and accessibility, it hit hard in 2025 with two major new features. On one side, a Ratchet mechanism integrated into its premium road and gravel ranges. On the other hand, a reinvention of the wheel Climbing wheel for rim brakes, modernized with #thinkwider technology. These innovations reflect the journey's commitment to offer advanced technical solutions to all cyclists, whether competitive or passionate.

The new Star Ratchet system from Parcours

The course introduces a crowned system (Ratchet) into its premium hubs, an advance that replaces the old ratchet design. With 36 teeth, this mechanism offers fast engagement – perfect for re-launching on technical routes – while ensuring long-term sustainability. The design increases the surface of contact under load, thus reducing the risk of slippage, even during intense efforts such as a steep climb or a sprint. This system now equips road wheels (disc and skates) and gravel wheels. Notable bonus: access to hub bearings is without tools, simplifying maintenance for those who want to keep their wheels in perfect condition without going through a workshop.

Technical specifications:

  • Disc hub weight: 115 g (front), 220 g (back with Shimano HG body).
  • Wheel body:
    • Shimano HG, SRAM XDR, Shimano Microspline for disk version
    • Shimano HG, SRAM XDR for skates
  • Commitment: 36 teeth for optimal balance between responsiveness and robustness.

Climbing 2025: Carbon skate wheels pass (finally!) to the upper level

Fans of rim brakes will love the new version of the Grimpeur, reinvented for 2025. It includes its #thinkwider technology, expanding the rim for the first time in this category. With a profile of 41 mm, an external width of 29.5 mm and an internal width of 22.5 mm (same as the disc models), this wheel meets a growing demand: drive with wide tires without sacrificing aerodynamics. The CFD simulation tests show that with a 25 mm tire, it competes at within 0.5 W with the Passista (56 mm), but surpasses this 1.5 W model on average with a 28 mm tire. Cherry on the cake: despite this wider rim, the Climper 2025 passes below the 1300 g bar.

Technical specifications:

  • Profile: 41 mm deep,
  • External width: 29.5 mm
  • Internal width: 22.5 mm
  • Weight: 1300 g (575 g front and 720 rear)
  • Moths equipped with Star Ratchet 36T mechanism.
  • Optimized for tires 25-28 mm
  • Price: 1429 €

Why choose new products?

These innovations are not just updates: they meet concrete needs. The Ratchet mechanism has become the standard for reporting its effectiveness. It offers reactivity and ease of maintenance that will seduce both regular cyclists and competitors. The climber 2025, on the other hand, modernizes the brakes on rim with a wide and light rim, perfect for climbers or lovers of long rolling exits. It continues to stand out by offering high-end carbon wheels at competitive prices, challenging major brands without compromising on quality.
