Prymahl 2026: complete analysis of the new 27 wheel range

The French brand Prymahl, so far associated with Origin bikes, takes off and asserts itself as a fully-fledged entity with a clear ambition: to impose itself on the high performance wheel market. With no less than 27 new models for road, gravel and mountain bike, the Rouvignies brand hits a big hit. We have analysed in detail this strategic renewal that relies on technology, a clear segmentation and an assembly always made in France.

A redesigned range from A to Z: X, Pro, RS and R

Prymahl has structured its range into four distinct levels of performance, which are available on the Orion (road), Vega (grave) and Polaris families (MTB). This new nomenclature immediately identifies the positioning of each pair.

  • Range X: The top performance, intended for competition. Carbon wheels and spokes, X hubs with 36-tooth rocker system. The objective is clear: a maximum weight/rigidity ratio for the most demanding cyclists.
  • Pro range: The ideal compromise for knowledgeable competitors and cyclists. It combines carbon (or aluminium) rims with aero straight pull stainless steel spokes and Pro hubs, offering excellent aerodynamic efficiency and great responsiveness.
  • RS range: Designed for endurance, long distances and bikepacking. Reliability is the key word here, with J-bend round spokes (more simple to replace) and robust RS hubs, without sacrificing performance.
  • Range R: The gateway to the Prymahl universe. Available in carbon or aluminium, it allows access to the quality of French assembly with reliable and proven components, at a very competitive price.

Technical focus: what really changes

Beyond segmentation, this new generation introduces major technical developments on the three key components of a wheel: rim, hubs and spokes.

Wheels: more rigid, wider, more stable

All rims have been completely redesigned. Prymahl announces a gain of 14% lateral rigidity compared to the old generation, thanks to an optimised carbon layout and a more efficient moulding process. The internal width has been increased to fit modern tyre sections: for example, 23 mm on the Orion C48 (road) and 25 mm on the Vega C45 (grave). This gain offers better tire support, improving comfort, grip and performance. The profile « U », now a standard, is adopted for better stability against the lateral wind.

Moths: optimized fluidity and ratchet system

The new hubs benefit from tight machining tolerances and an interesting technical approach: their friction is optimized for hot operation, i.e. in real driving conditions, and not cold on a workshop foot. The bearings were selected for their low friction and durability, protected by improved sealing. The flagship of the range, the X hub, integrates a 36-tooth rocket engagement system, ensuring an almost instant power transfer.

Rayons: Carbon as a lance

The great novelty is the introduction of carbon rays on the X range. These lighter and more rigid spokes than steel contribute both to the explosiveness of the wheels and to their record weight (1175 g for the Orion C35 X). The Pro and RS ranges rely on high quality stainless steel spokes, aero profiles (type CxRay) for Pro, and round for RS for easy maintenance.

Availability, price and positioning

The entire new Prymahl range is already available via the brand's famous online configurator, which allows you to customize its pair of wheels (stickers, freewheel body, tires, discs). With rates starting at 399 € for aluminium and 999 € For carbon, Prymahl is extremely aggressive. The high-end X, at 2,190 €, directly competes with market references with cutting-edge specifications and ultra-competitive weight.

By emancipating, Prymahl gives himself the means of his ambitions. This 2026 range, coherent, technologically up-to-date and supported by French assembly know-how, has all the advantages to become a key player in the wheel market, far beyond the original bicycles.
