Brand analysis of 2026 professional teams wheels

Vision – 3 teams WorldTour + 1 ProTeam

Vision is the best represented wheel brand in the professional peloton in 2026, with three WorldTour teams and a ProTeam to its credit. The great novelty of this season concerns the models used: the riders will alternate between the Metron RS 45 and Metron RS 60 According to race profiles. The logic is simple, the 45 mm will be preferred on hilly or hilly routes, where lightness and high-speed bend behaviour take precedence over pure aerodynamic gain. The 60 mm comes into play on the more rolling terrain and during the semi-mountain classics. Vision is also distinguished by its policy of customisation of decorations For its partner teams: the most visible example is the Unibet Rose Rockets, whose wheels are bright yellow in the colors of the Lower Tietema team.

Bahrain Victorious went to Bianchi after nine seasons with Merida, but kept its wheel partnership with Vision. EF Education-EasyPost Also continues with Vision Metron, despite the shift from Shimano to SRAM Red AXS on the band side. XDS Astana completes the WorldTour Trio on Vision, in a configuration consistent with the cockpits of the same brand.

Zipp – 2 teams WorldTour + 1 ProTeam

Movistar Team and NSN Cycling Team both drive in Zipp NSW For 2026. The NSW versions are the top of the Chicago brand, and professional teams benefit from an exclusive finish: white stickers not available in general trade. A subtle way of distinguishing race material from the civil catalogue. At Q36.5Tom Pidcock even has an even more exclusive treatment with a Gold colour limited series. A distinction reserved for a few leading riders.

Roval – 2 WorldTour teams

The two specialized teams of the peloton, Red Bull-Bora-Hansgrohe and Soft Quick-Step, roll on Quick Roval CLX III (or Alpinist or Sprint), the new generation released in 2025. Unsurprisingly, it is this model that the riders logically adopted as soon as they were available, taking advantage of a refined rim and an improved rigidity compared to the previous generation. Vertical integration Specialized/Roval remains one of the most successful of the WorldTour. 4

DT Swiss – 2 teams

DT Swiss is represented by two teams in 2026, with in both cases the range ARC 1100 under all its height variations depending on the terrain.

Tudor Pro Cycling is the second DT Swiss team with BMC bikes. The historic collaboration between the two Swiss brands should create an exceptional bike/wheel couple.

Swiss Side – 1 WorldTour Team

Decathlon CMA CGM Team benefits for 2026 from a welcome update: Swiss Side presented the third generation of Hadrons, baptized Hadron3 Ultimate. The French team, now a condominium of CMA CGM, maintains a Swiss Side partnership dating back to the Ag2r-La Mondiale era, but with a renewed wheel. Shimano Dura-Ace – 1 WorldTour Team

Alpecin-First Tech, Mathieu van der Poel's team, was the only WorldTour team to use Shimano wheels in 2026, the Dura-Ace C50 and C60. Wheel side, one deep overhaul is expected prototypes were seen in the professional platoon in 2025, allowing a new generation to be anticipated. Campagnolo – 1 ProTeam team

Relegated WorldTour after the 2025 season, Cofidis Nevertheless, maintains very high level equipment. The Look 795 Blade RS and 796 Monoblade RS are fully equipped by Campagnolo : Super Record 13, and especially wheels Bora Ultra WTO (profiles 45 and 60 mm) for the road, Bora Ultra WTO TT (Lenticular, 930 g) for the time trial. Conclusion

The 2026 season confirms an unprecedented fragmentation of the wheel market in the male professional peloton. With 16 different brands For more than 20 teams, this is proof that the market for high-end carbon wheels is no longer confined to two or three dominant players.

Vision asserts itself as the best represented brand (3 WorldTour + 1 ProTeam teams), ahead of Zipp (2 WorldTour teams) and the DT Swiss/Roval duo (2 teams each with all divisions). The great trend 2026 in wheels of professional cycling teams remains vertical integration (Bontrager, Cadex, Roval, Oquo) and the emergence of confidential premium brands (Scope, Reserve, Enve) that gain in visibility by equipping the best teams in the world.
