ENVE SES 6.7 PRO: Pogačar wheels cut by the UCI regulation

Tadej Pogačar won Milan-San Remo and the Bianche Strade 2026 on wheels that no store sold. On October 1, 2026, ENVE finally made them official: the ENVE SES 6.7 PRO display 59mm of profile at the front, 65mm at the rear, 1495g the pair and a price of 4600€. More than just an evolution, it's a redesigned wheel to stick to the new UCI limit of 65mm. It remains to be seen what is worth, for an amateur, a wheel first thought for the WorldTour peloton.

ENVE SES 6.7 PRO: a wheel designed by the UCI regulation

Since 1 January 2026, the UCI bans in online racing rims of more than 65mm profile. Problem for ENVE: the old SES 6.7 measured 60mm at the front and 66mm at the rear. One millimeter too much. The case broke out at the Bianche Strade, in March, when Pogačar imposed himself on a rear wheel that looked like the old SES 6.7, so a priori too high. ENVE then explained that it was a compliant prototype without further details.

This prototype is SES 6.7 PRO. Rather than planing a millimeter, ENVE has designed two new profiles: 59mm front, 65mm back, battery at the limit. Developed with UAE Team Emirates-XRG, the wheel rolled all season under the riders of the team before arriving in store. ENVE presents it as its fastest wheel authorized by the UCI.

Two different profiles: 59mm at the front for stability, 65mm at the rear, exactly the UCI limit.

22.5mm rim and 28mm tire: ENVE goes against current

This is the most surprising choice of the card. The internal width drops to 22.5mm, compared to 23.5mm on the SES 4.5 PRO, for 30.5mm of external width. As on the SES 4.5 PRO, the rim adopts micro-crochets, while the SES classics of ENVE are hookless. However, these hooks do not open the door to classic tires: the wheel remains reserved for hookless tubeless tires.

The profile is optimized for a 28mm tire, when the rest of the market slides to 30mm: Shimano moves to 23mm internal width and Mavic 25mm. ENVE makes the reverse bet, that of the pro peloton, where the 28mm remains the reference for pure speed. For an amateur who rides in 30 or 32mm on degraded roads, this choice has a cost in comfort. Before you mount your tires, check the compatibility with our rim and tire calculator.

INNERDRIVE PRO and steel beams: ENVE assumes

No carbon rays here. ENVE remains on silver Alpina Ultralite OH TCX steel beams, with internal alloy nuts and a voltage of 120kgf. A choice of reliability and ease of maintenance, against the current of competitors who put carbon everywhere.

The INNERDRIVE PRO hubs are equipped with a 40 toothed rocker, PRO spring and ENVE PRO ceramic bearings. According to the press, they weigh 60g less than the INNERDRIVE Premium. The rest is classic: Centerlock mounting, 12×100 and 12×142 axes, Shimano HG cassette body, SRAM XDR or Campagnolo N3W.

1495g and 4600€ : what is the cost of ENVE SES 6.7 PRO

The ENVE SES 6.7 PRO weighs 1495g the pair (690g front, 805g behind), rim bottom and valves included. This is 200g more than SES 4.5 PRO (1295g). ENVE assumes: the 6.7 PRO is a speed wheel for flat and hilly terrain, not a mountain wheel.

On the aero side, ENVE states that no competing road wheel authorized by the UCI is faster, the closest being according to the brand Metron Vision 60 SL. But no numbers are published, and the comparative graph has been criticized by Slowtwitch readers for its misleading scale. As for Pogačar's victories, they say a lot about the rider and little about the wheel. To put these promises into perspective, our Wheel comparison calculate what a few watts really are worth on your journey.

My opinion

The ENVE SES 6.7 PRO are a pure race wheel, and they do not hide it. Profiles cut in millimetre for the regulation, rim tightened for the tire of 28mm, lightened hubs and ceramic bearings: everything serves speed on the plate, with the guarantee of a WorldTour season under Pogačar. The lifetime warranty of ENVE and manufacturing in Ogden, Utah, remain true arguments at this price level.

What makes it tick: 1495g and 4600€ the pair, without any air figures published, and a 22.5mm rim that goes down from what the market offers to amateurs. The ENVE SES 6.7 PRO is an excellent wheel that runs fast on rolling roads, but a hard buy to justify for a cyclist looking for a versatile wheel. Would you fall for Pogačar's wheels? Say it in comment.
